Getting a License

InSpec requires a license for each PC it is to be installed and used on. This license is permanent for the life of the PC and includes software updates. Licenses may be included at no extra cost with the purchase of compatible machines. To get an activation code for an InSpec license, contact your authorized Micro-Vu dealer.

FAQ

Can I open inspection programs created in InSpec Classic in InSpec (and vice versa)?

No, InSpec Classic and InSpec save different things in different formats which are not compatible. InSpec Classic programs have the file extension IWP and InSpec programs have the file extension I3P

Can I have InSpec Classic and InSpec installed on the same computer?

Yes, InSpec Classic versions 2.105 and above can be installed and used interchangeably with InSpec. Note that InSpec Classic and InSpec cannot both connect to a machine at the time so one application must be completely closed before the other will be able to be used.

Are the calibrations I perform in InSpec Classic used in InSpec (and vice versa)?

No, InSpec Classic and InSpec save different things in different formats and do not share calibrations. Calibrations must be performed separately for each software.

How do I find functionality from InSpec Classic in InSpec?

InSpec is a new generation of metrology software completely rebuilt from the ground up. Many functionalities from InSpec Classic are provided through new, modified, or alternative workflows.
